Overview

Coolmine's continuum of care supports clients from their contemplation of a life free from dependence on drugs and alcohol, right the way through to aftercare, when clients return to the wider community after rehabilitation.

Outreach Service

The first point of contact for clients is generally with our Outreach Service (whether in the community or at the Drop-In Centre at Lord Edward Street) where we offer one-to-one counselling, assessment and information in order to support and assist them in making the right choices regarding their treatment. Read more on our Outreach Service.

For people who are struggling, or simply not yet ready, to quit their drinking or drug use, the Welcome Stabilisation Day Programme is an option that provides non-judgemental support and counselling, as well as the option of community detox.

Drug-Free Day Programme

Clients who have succeeded in getting drug-free – through detox or other means – can join our Drug-Free Day Programme or a full-time Residential Programme. On completion of a rehabilitation programme, clients will be offered a place in community-based housing provided by the Coolmine Integration Service. This service also offers additional therapy and support for individuals making the transition into education, training or employment. Read more on our Drug-Free Day Programme.

The Integration Programme

The Integration programme ends with a client’s move into independent accommodation, at which point our Aftercare Service takes over, offering clients support through groups and one-to-one counselling sessions. When clients have successfully stayed drug and alcohol-free and completed the Aftercare phase they are eligible for Graduation. Read more on our Integration Programme.

Graduation

Graduation marks the completion of all formal aspects of the Coolmine continuum of care. A Graduation ceremony is held, which is attended by clients and other graduates, friends, families, staff and management, board members and invited VIPs. This ceremony is an appropriate recognition and celebration of the scale of each graduate’s personal achievement in reaching this milestone in his or her life.

Recovery is a lifelong commitment and the doors of Coolmine are never closed to those struggling with sobriety. Support is always available. In addition the Coolmine Graduate Lifelong Learning Support Group is run by and for graduates and offers opportunities for socialising and networking.
