Sober October – Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
Sober October is a fundraising and awareness campaign organised by Coolmine Therapeutic Community, a registered Irish charity (CHY5902) regulated by the Charities Regulator No: 200096873. The campaign encourages participants to abstain from alcohol for the month of October to support Coolmine’s addiction recovery services across Ireland.
2. Eligibility
· Participants must be aged 18 years or over.
· The campaign is open to residents of Ireland and abroad.
3. Registration
· To participate, individuals must register online via the official Sober October Ireland website: www.soberoctober.ie.
· By registering, participants agree to these Terms and Conditions and consent to receive communications related to the campaign.
4. Fundraising
· All funds raised for this campaign must be submitted via the official fundraising platform at www.soberoctober.ie
· Coolmine reserves the right to verify fundraising activities and may request evidence of compliance with ethical fundraising standards.
5. Incentives and Raffle Entry
Participants who reach specific fundraising milestones during the Sober October campaign may be eligible for entry into a raffle to win a One4All voucher. The following conditions apply:
Eligibility for Raffle Entry
Participants must be aged 18 years or over.
Only individuals who have registered via the official campaign website and raised funds through the designated platform are eligible.
Entry into the raffle is automatic upon reaching the specified fundraising thresholds.
Prize Details
Prizes will consist of One4All vouchers.
No individual prize will exceed €150 in value.
The total value of all prizes will not exceed €1,000, ensuring compliance with the exemption from requiring a lottery permit under Irish law
No Purchase Necessary
Entry into the raffle is free and based solely on fundraising performance.
No additional payment or ticket purchase is required.
Incentive Periods and Draw Dates
Specific fundraising incentives will be promoted throughout the campaign. Each incentive will have clearly defined start and end dates, which will be communicated via email to registered participants only.
Winners for each incentive will be drawn and contacted no later than 7 days after the incentive period ends, unless otherwise stated in the promotional material.
Draw Process
Winners will be selected at random from eligible participants.
The draw will be conducted by Coolmine Therapeutic Community or an authorised representative.
Winners will be notified via email and announced on the campaign website.
Data Protection
Personal data collected for raffle administration will be processed in accordance with Coolmine’s Privacy Statement.
Data will not be shared with third parties and will be retained only as long as necessary for the purpose of the raffle.
6. Corporate Matching Fund Terms & Conditions
Between Tuesday, 21st October 2025 (9:00 AM) and Friday, 24th October 2025 (11:59 PM), or until matched funds run out all public donations to Coolmine’s Sober October campaign will be matched up to a total of €3,000, thanks to the generous support of Blanchardstown Community Credit Union.
Matching will apply on a first-come, first-served basis, up to the €3,000 total limit. No donor or personal data will be shared with Blanchardstown Community Credit Union
7. Campaign Duration
· The campaign runs from 3rd September to 31st October 2025.
· Fundraising pages may remain open until 14th November 2025 to allow for final donations.
8. Data Protection
· Coolmine will process personal data in accordance with its https://www.coolmine.ie/privacy-statement/
· Participants’ data will not be sold or shared with third parties.
9. Liability
· Coolmine accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during participation in Sober October, except where caused by negligence.
· Participants take part in the campaign at their own risk.
10. Cancellation and Amendments
· Coolmine reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the campaign or these Terms and Conditions where necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
· Any changes will be communicated via the campaign webpage.
