Join us on 21st December 2022 for our first ever Winter Solstice Swim, taking place at10am at Dollymount Strand, Dublin (Meeting Point: North Bull Wall Swimming Spot, Clontarf.)

As we look to the new year, and take stock of the year that’s been, we are celebrating “Brighter Days Ahead”, in recognition of the winter solstice – the longest night of the year that leads to brighter days. This is an important message for anyone who has overcome addiction and made it through to brighter days and Coolmine is supporting anyone who has experienced real struggle or challenges this year and all welcome to take part in this special swim.

This festive dip will be taking place on the beach at Dollymount Strand, after we all gather at the meeting point at North Bull Wall at 10am. There will be hot drinks and refreshments for anyone who comes along on the day – swimmers and supporters! The registration fee is €25, which includes a goodie bag for you to collect on the day and supports the vital work of Coolmine Therapeutic Community.

This event is kindly sponsored by Mediolanum Irish Operations, with generous matched funding by Fondazione Mediolanum, so every donation made will have double the impact on the clients supported by Coolmine.

Where does the swim take place?

The swim will be taking place on the beach at Dollymount Strand, after we all gather at the meeting point at North Bull Wall at 10am.

Can I take part outside of Dublin?

Absolutely! If you’re not available to join us at Dollymount Strand on the day, you can register online to participate remotely. We’ll send you out your goodie bag and you can do your own Solstice Swim anywhere in the world! Simply click on “Register Now” then “Get Tickets” and select “Remote Participation”.

Who can take part?

Everyone is welcome to take part in this event.

What is the registration fee?

The registration fee is €25. Your registration fee includes a goodie bag which you will collect on the day, and a token for a hot drink to warm you up after our Solstice Swim. The great news is that every euro raised will be doubled thanks to generous matched funding by Fondazione Mediolanum!

I don't want to swim, can I still support?

Not a swimmer? You can still support the vital work of Coolmine Therapeutic Community by making a donation. The great news is that every euro you donate will be doubled thanks to generous matched funding by Fondazione Mediolanum! Will there be a lifeguard on site?

Yes, there will be certified lifeguard cover on site.

Will there be first aid on site?

Yes, there will be certified medical cover on site.
